Nutcracker

It's been a whirlwind around here for awhile. First we had the Nutcracker. There were four performances and two dress rehearsals, if that gives you an idea.

Then, right after that my oldest daughter got sick for over a week (and had to miss her next dance performance that was coming up). She has Cyclical Vomitting Syndrome. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. She basically is unable to keep ANYTHING down for sometimes a week at a time and feels absolutely miserable during the whole thing to the point where she is unresponsive. We have some good medicine to give her, but sometimes the episode once it gets going can't be stopped. It could have been caused by the excitement of the Nutcracker performance, or by food additives, or by a mild virus (or any number of other things) that set off the cycle. But, it was no fun and she ended up having to get an IV.

Then I got sick after that. No biggie, just a cold, but a pretty strong cold. And my little baby boy has had the same cold. :(

These pictures I am sharing are from several weeks ago. The girls loved doing the Nutcracker. It really was a magical experience.

Busy With Baby

I have been extremely busy lately with the baby and the girls, and also with some extra dance activities the girls have been doing lately. I'm finally seeing the end of the tunnel...with the dance activities that is. The last recital is next Sunday. The marathon weekend was this last weekend. During all of this and despite the dreary lighting this time of year presents, I got out my flash and took some pictures of my little man.

I want to share with you a picture of my preschooler too. This picture says it all lately. She shares the attention and we are in active potty training and pretty much in the most willful stage for her. Sometimes the terrible twos are the terrible threes. Yet, she's cute too.
